Nice

Lets get down to business shall we?

-Pro's-
- I like the almost Ska strumming you have for the first guitar, nice and clean as well, adds a lot to the musics overall ambiance.
- The drums just being a snare roll fill fit the music nicely in most parts.
- The third guitar (comes in at 1:23) had a very nice melody to it.
- I like the subtleties in some of the instruments.
- The timing in this song is near perfect, I can't hear any problems. I know when I mix music with real bass and Guitar it's bloody hard to get all of the instruments to mix perfectly.
- Its overall mixing was good, no low bass clipping, no high irritating frequencies.
- Its an overall relaxing song, I quite like the mood it sets.

-Cons-
- Some bars go for a bit too long.
- The drums could be a little louder.
- The bass line also could be a more "spicy" and also doesn't really sound like a bass, if its a synth, I don't think it works as well as a bass guitar could.
- The distorted guitar, I think, should have a little less distortion on it.

Those are all of the pro's and con's I can see with your song man, and its obvious that the pro's far out weigh the con's.

Well done on a very nice track.

Also, to Chronamut, I think the "peaks" in his strumming are meant to be there.

Again, well done

thanks for the review. I' wouldn't have thought of ska sound, but yea i hear it which is cool. I wanted the clean rhythm for contrast with some of the more distorted guitars. Drums are EZdrummer, couple of loops but i wanted that 'driving on' rhytmn more than variation, with 'live' music you tend to have less developed beats compared to Computer music. Third guitar noted. Yea the only problems i had with timing were the latency kept getting longer and longer with each track, ue to my shitty guitar sound card but it's as close as. theres a couple of bassy notes that need notching up and some of the lead is a couple of ms out but maybe it adds rather than detreacts.

And yea i had a nightmare mixing the guitars overall five different guitars on this track, i'd forgotten how hard it was to mix it well, seems i did alright.. Good stuff regarding mix and tone.

The bars may feel a bit long as they are now, but when the tracks has it's vocals it'll all come clear, the vocals come in when the first riff comes in, theres a mini bridge on the first two bars when the second riff comes in mini veres leading into chorus. it will work trust me. Noted on drums. Haven't got a bass guitar, been a major problem just uing my electric as mentioned in chrons resonse i have some frequencies jumling out of my soeakers on the d note, but i shall trust you's on it. Distorted guitar yup i'll notch filter some of the higher frequencies and tame it a little.

Thanks very much for the review.

This is good man

Well done on this track.

I particularly liked the nice smooth bass line. It wasn't "In your face" like some can be, nice and mellow, and sets a nice mood. Well done.

The Hits sounded very good as well, and added a nice presence to the song. Made the song sound more powerful.

The guitar work was good to, did you use slayer 2?

The drums were mixed well, not to fancy though, so they could have had come work done to them. But this is almost negligible.

Overall, well done.

Hope to see more of your music in the future.

This is your first trance song?

This is awesome for a first trance song. I have never heard anything this awesome for a first try. Well done. The only problem I can see with it, is the fact that the kick drum clips a lot, as does the big "BOOM". But those are only minor problems.

Well done on a very nice track.

Nostrap responds:

ehhh clipping. guess my mastering skillz arent what they used to be :(

Sound Scary

Thats good man, It sound like it would be on Silent Hill :P

I think you should have used a different string, myself, but thats my opinion.

Other than that

A good song

Well done

Anima

DSMagnum responds:

Heh, I was thinking about submitting this to the VG Portal originally, but I didn't think it would fit as well. I guess it could've.

I chose this set of strings over any others because they seemed to make a darker sound. I was thinking about making them a little more out of tune to make it even darker, but by doing that it started to sound bad. The string choice was just my personal liking.

Thanks for reviewing!

This song is AWESOME

I am a bass player, and that bass line is hell funky :P

Not the most complex riff ever invented, but pretty damn cool

The mixing was good, the only downside I can see is the fact that there is only one riff, therefore being repetative is a certainty.

Other than that, a very nicely composed song

5 for you ^_^

Thanks, your music was pretty good too.

Nice Trance

This was good ol homebrew trance, well done :P

The only thing is that it did drag on a bit long, but genrally thats what trance is :P

The tune was nice, the drums were good. The only thing which I didn't like was the fact taht you had to drop the quality of it :P

Well done

Anima

Always-Dark responds:

Yea since it was like 8 mins long i had to drop the quality from 128kbs to 64kbs!! thats why it sounds so poor [to my standarts] but i chose to do that because i thought that shortening the lenght would ruin the feeling of the track. Im glad you like it, thats why im giving you the option to download the 128kbs version here:

I wish i could re-write the description so i could add this link but i can't. ahh well. Thnx for reviewing the track!

Nice

I didn't like the opening...the begining cymbals sounded a bit crap in my opinion, but when the lead instrument came in...damn....that was awesome.

Also, not sure if that volume flux thing fits either, but that could be only me who thinks that :P

I also reckon the bass could be a little bit deeper, not a whole lot....just a little

So yeah..thats my review :P

Well done Blacknoise

Anima

PERVOK responds:

Don't worry, I wrote this song in under 45 minutes, so I didn't really have the time to... well... look it over and make it "oh so perfect". I wish I could though, cause it turned out rather nice.

Thanks for the review.
